pcmicro.com is committed to protecting your privacy online. We know that when we ask you for personal information, we assume a significant responsibility for ensuring that you understand how that information will be used and that we adhere strictly to our stated guidelines.   • What personally identifiable information does pc micro collect from me?
    During registration or evaluation, pc micro only requires information required for us to license you our software. This includes your name, company, address and e-mail address. Wherever pc micro collects personal information, we make an effort to describe how that information will be used and include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page.
  • How does pc micro use my information?
    pc micro's primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with technical support for products that you request to download from our site both before and after you purchase our products.

  • Who is collecting my information?
    When you are on a pc micro site and are asked for personal information, when downloading software, you are sharing that information with pc micro alone. If you are placing an order using a credit card, that information is only shared with our credit card merchant Authorize.net. If data is being collected and/or maintained by any company other than pc micro, you will be notified before you submit or transfer your information. If you do not want your data to be shared with Authorize.net, you can choose not to use the credit card purchase option and instead purchase using a PO or going through one of our resellers.
  • With whom does pc micro share my information?
    As a general rule, pc micro will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or under the circumstances described below.
  • What are my choices regarding collection, use, and distribution of my information?
    pc micro may, from time to time, send you e-mail regarding our products and services if you request to be informed of such. Only pc micro will send you these direct mailings.

You also have choices with respect to cookies. You can change your browser preferences to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or be notified what a cookie is being sent.

  • What are cookies and how does pc micro use them?
    As part of offering you shopping cart services, pc micro uses cookies to store information about items you place in a shopping cart on our web sites. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. We also use cookies to:

    An IP address, or IP number, is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you connect to the Internet. Your IP number is visible to those who manage most of the websites you visit, and your IP number is visible to us when you visit pc micro or any of its subpages or member pages. Like cookies, we use IP address information for a variety of applications.
  • How does pc micro protect my personal financial information?
    Keeping your personal financial information private and secure is vitally important to us. Any time we ask for a credit card number, we transmit that credit card number in an encrypted format. We use a secure server at authorize.net, using the industry-standard, TLS (Transport layer security) encryption. We do not share your credit card information with anyone else.
  • What security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of my information?
    Your pc micro profile and all information submitted to pc micro is password-protected so that only you and authorized pc micro staff have access to your personal information. You may edit your information by using your pc micro ID and password. We recommend that you take great care not to divulge your password to anyone. NOTE: pc micro staff will NEVER ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited e-mail.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while we make every effort to protect your personal information, pcmicro.com cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services. You make all transmissions and data transfers at your own risk.

  • What else should I know about my privacy?
    Please keep in mind that whenever you disclose personal information online, be it on a message boards, through e-mail, or in chat areas - your statements, information and other data can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. At the end of the day, it is you who is solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information.
