NetModem Server Installer Error 1721

NetModem
Server versions 3.33 and 3.34 use a newer
version of InstallShield 2008, which had an issue that
could prevent an uninstall from occuring.
Under certain conditions, attempting to uninstall or
upgrade could result in the following error message:
Error 1721: There is a problem with this
Windows Installer Package. A program required for
this install to complete could not be run. Contact
your support personell or package vendor. Action:
Delete_Service.
If you encounter
this message, you will need to manually uninstall
NetModem Server before upgrading to a newer version
by following these steps:

Open
a Command Prompt while logged on as an Administrator.
If you are running Windows Vista, you will need
to open the Command Prompt by right clicking it's
icon and select "Run as Administrator".

Type
the following line and press enter:
CD "\program files\netmodem\server"

Type
the following line and press enter:
netmodemserver -deleteserv
If you typed this correctly, the NetModem Server
Tray icon should now vanish.

Type
the following line and press enter:
regedit
The Registry Editor window will open.

In
RegEdit, Navigate to the following Folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Features\
From
here, right click on the folder named:
63E03E400EEDBDD4BA2BA6ED06433423
and select Delete, then confirm that you wish to
delete this folder.

Next
navigate to the following folder::
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\
From here, right click on the folder named:
63E03E400EEDBDD4BA2BA6ED06433423
and select Delete, then confirm that you wish to
delete this folder.
- Close the RegEdit
Window.
- From the Command
Prompt Window,( which was opened previously) type
the following commands:
erase netmodemserver.exe
erase nmservermon.exe
erase ssleay32.dll
erase libeay32.dll
- Close the Command
Prompt Window.
- You can now
reinstall the latest version of NetModem Server, and
all your settings will be retained. Versions 3.35
or later will not encounter this issue.
