A2. |
You may need additional
licenses.
On the MPNT Server machine,
go to SpartaCom Administrator. Click on the menu
Help/About SpartaCom Administrator and on the
License section check the maximum of users allowed.
If you need additional licenses, call the Sales
Team in the USA at 1-800-922-0005. |
Q3. |
If
a user cannot connect, what are the first steps
to check? |
A3. |
_ On MPNT Server check
if there are any error messages in the View\View
Alerts window.
_ On the client machine,
check if there is any error message on the Popup
application. If you are using an NT client machine
you should also refer to the NT Event Viewer.
_ On the SpartaCom Administrator,
verify that a resource has been allocated to the
user or its parent.
_ Right-click on the user
and check to see if the properties have been disabled.
_ If this user does not
have any properties, go up in the User Pane until
you find any defined properties on the user parents
_ If there are no properties
defined on the User Pane, check the general properties
in the menu Tools\Options\User\Default Parameters.

Q5. |
During
the installation, the DAOPACK was not installed
correctly, why? |
A5. |
Check that no application
using an ODBC interface is running. If yes, then
this is the cause of the problem. Stop these applications
or services and reinstall MPNT.
|
Q6. |
I
want to install MPNT Server or Client from a shared
network drive but I get an error message during
the installation of the DAO pack? |
A6. |
This is because the
Network Path is too long; therefore you should
install the software locally. |
Q7. |
I
am receiving the error: "The procedure entry point
SPMObdcCvtBinary2Text could not be located in
the dynamic link library SPLib2.dll" after rebooting
the server the first time after a reinstallation.
How do I correct this? |
A7. |
1. Uninstall MPNT/Acctrol.
Reboot the machine as part of the uninstall process
before proceeding to the next step.

the installation of MPNT Server, and the SpartaCom
Administrator is launched for the first time,
I receive the following error: "Error
occurred wile reading license numbers." "(Reduced
operating mode)" The
SpartaCom Administrator will open, however, it
is operating as an evaluation version. How do
I correct this? |
A8. |

due to the Acctrol Monitor Service not having
the correct privileges to start. The Acctrol Monitor
user account MUST have Domain Administrator privileges.
To check this:
1. Go into Control Panel
| Services.
2. Double-click on the
Acctrol Monitor Service.
3. Select the button beside
"This Account..."
4. This will bring up
the "Add User" dialog box.

The Acctrol
Monitor will also fail to start. How can I resolve
this? |
A9. |
Go into the Winnt\System32
directory. Make sure the files below are not selected
for "Read Only".
MSVCRT.DLL
MSVCP60.DLL
MFC42.DLL
To do this, highlight
and right-click on the .DLL file. Select
"Properties" on the displayed
menu. If the "Read Only" option is checked, you
must click on it to uncheck this option. Click
on "Apply" and "OK". When this procedure has been
performed for all 3 .DLL files, you must reinstall
the MPNT Server Software. |

taskbar. How can I do it? |
A14. |
There are several solutions
a. First you can uncheck the following boxes in
the client popup
- Display current connection status at connect
- Always visible
b. Remove the client popup from the taskbar by
pressing simultaneously shift and F4 keys when
the popup is up on your screen
c. Remove the client popup permanently. To do
this you will need to delete the following value
from the registry :
- For Windows NT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\"SpartaCom
Client popup"
- For Windows 9x
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\"SPPopup.exe"
Note : This solution will only be effective
after you reboot your machine |
Q15. |
It
seems that the opening of the MPNT Com Port on
the Windows NT client machine is very slow. This
seems to happen frequently since I have installed
Remote Access Service on this machine to connect
to the Internet.
|
A15. |
- On the MPNT client
machine, go to Control Panel
- Double-click on the
Network icon and click on the Bindings tab
- In SPNetNT Interface
select Wins Client (TCP/IP), if the TCP/IP protocol
is installed
- Amongst the list of
network cards it is best if the physical network
card through which MPNT client and MPNT Server
communicate is placed in first position. If this
is not the case, it is likely to explain the slowness
of the connection. |
Q16. |
I
want use the Anonymous Group for the first time
