LANTASTIC 8.0x WILL NOT ACCEPT SERIAL NUMBER DURING INSTALL WHEN A LATER SERVICE PACK OF WINDOWS 2000, XP, OR 2003 IS INSTALLED BEFORE LANTASTIC WAS INSTALLED.

Solution:
Due to security changes that Microsoft made in later Windows Service Packs, LANtastic should be installed and registered before installing more recent Windows Service Packs (released after June 2003). While this is not generally a requirement, there have been some cases in which a license key will not be accepted while a later Service Pack is installed.
Solution:
1. Uninstall LANtastic.
2. Uninstall any of the following Windows Service packs depending on the version of Windows installed:
Windows XP: Uninstall SP2 or later
Windows 2000: Uninstall SP4 or later
Windows 2003: Uninstall SP1 or later
Windows 2003-R2: This version is not compatible with LANtastic
3. Install LANtastic 8.01 (version 8.00 should not be used on Windows XP or later). Enter the serial number and verification key when instructed.
4. Install any later Windows Service Packs as needed.
