ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL LANTASTIC 8.0 FROM CD ON WINDOWS XP OR WINDOWS 2000 ERRORS AND SAYS SERVICE PACK 3 MUST BE INSTALLED ?
Background:
Older LANtastic 8.0 diskettes will not properly install LANtastic on Windows XP or 2000. This is because
the CD contains an older build originally designed for NT 4.0. The CD assumes NT 4.0 operating system is
in use, then checks for NT 4.0 SP3 or above. Therefore a false message is returned if the operating system
is either Windows XP or 2000.
Solution:
1. Download LANtastic801.exe from Updates and Files on www.spartacom.com.
2. Or, contact Sales for details on obtaining an updated LANtastic CD.
3. Install with your current Serial Number and verification key.
