REMOVE CROSS BINDINGS UNDER WINDOWS 2000?
Solution:
Background:
Cross-bindings can cause slow browsing or
slow Windows 2000 performance, after installing
LANtastic on Windows 2000.
To Remove Crossbindings:
1. Right-Click "My Network Places"
and select Properties
2. On the title bar, click Advanced, then
click Advanced Settings
3. Select Local Area Connection.
4. Under "Bindings for Local Area Connection"
select "File and Printer Sharing for
Microsoft Networks" uncheck "LANtastic
NetBIOS protocol"
5. Under File and Printer Sharing for LANtastic
networks uncheck all protocols except LANtastic
NetBIOS protocol"
6. Under "Client for Microsoft Networks,
uncheck "LANtastic NetBIOS protocol"
7. Under "Client for LANtastic Networks,
uncheck all protocols except "LANtastic
NetBIOS protocol".
8. If other Clients and Servers are present,
make sure "LANtastic NetBIOS protocol"
is unchecked.
9. Click the "Provider Order" tab.
Make sure LANtastic is first under "Network
Providers". If not, move it up until
it is first in the list.
10. Make sure "LANtastic Print Services"
is first under "Print Providers".
If not, move it up until it is first in the
list.
11. Click OK and restart Windows 2000.
